Summary

Thank you once again for signing up for the 35th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day: Saturday September 21st, 9:30AM - 1:00PM

Your Site Captain, Song Hunter from Fort Ross Conservancy (https://www.fortross.org) will contact you regarding meeting locations once you have signed up for Fort Ross. Please contact Song Hunter at songh@fortross.org to learn about and arrange camping accommodations for this site only.
On the day of the event, please check in with your captain at the designated location before 9:30 a.m. and before you go on the Beach.
Your safety is our ultimate concern. On the day of Coastal Clean-up, after you check in with your site captain -you will review a brief safety talk, submit a signed liability release form provided to you, and collect supplies, and hear specific instructions  before you set foot on the beach.

Please remember the following important safety and helpful tips:
• NEVER GO IN THE WATER

• Stay on Dry Sand at all times

• Never turn your back on the  Ocean

• Do not pick up medical waste-inform your captain of its location

• Wear closed toe shoes

• Dress in Layers

• Bring a reusable water bottle

• Bring work/gardening gloves (we will provide latex gloves)

• Sign the release form

• Bring a snack

• Bring Sun Protection

• Bring a bucket/container to collect trash (Coastwalk will have some buckets to share and will distribute reusable/washable trash collector backpacks for the first 25 to arrive at their clean-up site that morning )

All volunteers are asked to inventory the types of the debris collected using the data forms provided and to bring their collected debris to their beach captain to be weighed and sorted.
Thank you for your incredible generosity in donating your time to cleaning up our beautiful coastline and being a part of the solution to the impacts of marine debris to our coastal wildlife. Please feel free to call the Coastwalk office with question 707-829-6689 or email info@coastwalk.org.
