Join former Coastwalk ED Richard Nichol- author of Hiking the California Coastal Trail and former Board member Brenda Nichols for one of the best hikes in Point Reyes.
This hike will take us from the Visitor Center to the ridge, then a beautiful forested walk along the skyline trail. The trail drops off the ridge to the Coastal Trail before turning inland and return to the Visitor Center along the scenic Bear Valley Trail with many ferns, big trees and pretty creek.
We can expect wildflowers and great views on this 11 mile moderate walk. Except for the 1.8 mile climb to the ridge the trail is rolling, downhill and flat. Some of the trail may be muddy so wear sturdy shoes, bring sunscreen, water and lunch and dress in layers.
